Q. What is the maximum enrolment at Carlisle ELC?

A. 20 children

Q. At what age can children attend Carlisle ELC?

A. Children who are currently 3 – 5 years old

Q. Is there a late fee?

A. There is a late fee of $1 per minute

Q. Is food provided at the ELC?

A. Parents are responsible for providing all meals for their child/ren

Q. Do children have a daily rest?

A. There is a daily rest period for all children. Those children who have rested may then engage in quiet activities while others remain resting or sleeping. Children who need, or wish, to fall sleep are welcome to sleep during this time.

Q. What is the minimum national standard for staff to child ratios?

A. The required ratio is one staff to eleven children.

Q. Is there a charge for public holidays?

A. Yes. See the office staff for more information.

Q. Do I still pay if my child is away due to illness or holidays?

A. Yes. The good news is that qualifying families will still receive CCB on those days – up to 42 days per year.

Q. Does my child have to be immunised to attend?

A. No, however parents or carers must provide relevant documentation as required by Queensland Health. Children with recognised exemption from current immunisation will be excluded from the centre if an outbreak occurs at Carlisle ELC of an immunisable disease. (In the event of this unlikely occurrence, fees will still be charged to ensure your child’s position is held).

Q. Do you have to enrol in Carlisle Early Learning Centre to be considered for a Prep enrolment in the school?

A. No. If Prep enrolment does become full for the following school year, children enrolled in Carlisle ELC will be given priority placement.
